The Brief

The CYC building in Barrow-in-Furness is a colossal facility built to support the next generation of submarine construction, part of a £130m building project spanning 175,000 sq ft.

Within a building of that scale, BAE Systems needed office furniture that could be specified and delivered at pace across a huge footprint, without holding up the wider construction programme.

Our Approach

We supplied office furniture across most of the building, specifying and delivering more than 300 workstations to fit the scale and pace of the wider construction programme.

Working at this scale meant treating logistics as carefully as specification, sequencing deliveries so furniture arrived exactly when each area of the building was ready for it.

The Result

The completed spaces now support the office-based teams working alongside submarine construction at one of BAE Systems' largest sites.

The CYC project has since led to further work with BAE Systems Maritime, including their ongoing programme of new-build projects.
